Equity Series Panel Discussion

March 6 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$10.00 – $50.00

The AIA Houston Women in Architecture Committee is pleased to announce the eighth annual Equity Series, Value by Design: Resilient businesses. Individual security.

There has long been a cultural narrative within architecture that sets the value of the architect above the pursuit of lucrative compensation, framing financial ambition as secondary to the ideals of the profession. However, this mindset can leave professionals in the industry struggling to achieve the stability needed to thrive and sustain meaningful careers. The true value of architects cannot be realized without addressing this imbalance and ensuring the financial security necessary to maintain a diverse and equitable profession.

This year’s Equity Series asks how compensation structures can empower individuals at all stages of their professional journey. How can architects build financial security within the practice? What strategies can help architects navigate financial challenges and create opportunities for long-term growth?

Panelists:

  • Alec Luong, AIA, Principal – Architecture @ Project Luong
  • Lorie Westrick, AIA, Retired, Former Principal @ RdlR Architects
  • Qeturah Williams, AIA, NOMA, Principal, Regional Operations Leader @ DLR Group
