Merriman Holt Powell Architects (MHPA) is seeking a project designer (license preferred but not required) with 7+ years of experience, ideally with education and faith-based projects. We are looking for a candidate with excellent architectural and interior design skills, who is team-oriented and has strong communication abilities.

Merriman Holt Powell is a Houston-based architecture firm located in the Highland Village area. We specialize in master planning and architectural services for community-based projects with a particular focus on working with churches and schools. Our design approach grows out of a firm culture that places a high value on collaboration. Position Responsibilities:
Lead the design of projects by working closely with MHPA staff, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Produce drawings, models, and renders to effectively communicate designs to clients and the entire project team.
Lead the development of project interiors and the selection of finishes by working closely with client committees, vendors, and trade partners.
Assist with project management, including managing budgets, schedules, and workflow.
Assist with Construction Documents and Construction Administration.

Desired Qualifications:
7+ years of professional experience in architecture.
Excellent architectural and interior design skills, with strong creative abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Sketchup, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
