Design-Build Industrial Construction

The Design Project Manager is responsible for managing the design phase of construction projects. This role coordinates architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver complete, coordinated, and buildable construction documents before construction begins.
This is a management and coordination role—not a design-only position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage design projects from concept through issued-for-construction documents
- Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, surveyors, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and maintain design schedules and track deliverables
- Lead design coordination meetings and manage action items to closure
- Ensure design intent is translated into clear, accurate, and buildable construction documents
- Identify design conflicts and resolve them prior to construction
- Manage design changes and evaluate cost and schedule impacts
- Support construction administration and collaborate closely with field teams
- Travel to project sites across the U.S. as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a professional design environment under a licensed architect
- Full project delivery experience from schematic design through construction
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and coordination workflows
- Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within a design-build or integrated construction environment
- Design coordination experience for complex or industrial facilities
- Mission-critical facility experience
- PEMB design coordination experience
