The Julia Ideson Buildings 100th Birthday Celebration

Join the AIA Houston Historic Resources Committee and Kids + Architecture Committee in celebrating 100 years of the beautiful and iconic Julia Ideson Building! Since 1926, this Spanish Renaissance Revival treasure has inspired generations of Houstonians with its stunning architecture and the endless stories within its walls.

Highlights of this special day to include:

  • Enjoy a special screening of award-winning documentary The Julia Ideson Building – Celebrating 100 Years.
  • Travel back to the roaring 1920’s past with vintage fashion displays, typewriters, letterpress printing, and a themed photobooth!
  • Explore the building through guided historic tours and browse a special exhibit highlighting its rich past.
  • Bring the whole family for crafts, giveaways and a delightful Vintage Storytime featuring gems from our historic children’s book collection.

All Day Activities

12:00 PM – 4:00PM

Family Fun Crafts (use a typewriter, letterpress print your own postcard, button making, paper doll creation, architecture inspired headwear assembly, etc.)
