This home began as a vision for a more intentional life. The owners tasked us with a ground-up new construction build for their family with the desire to live a more minimalist lifestyle. The family aspirations were to de-clutter and simplify, while making a small home feel spacious. Architecture became a means to help them obtain those goals. The design decisions were guided by the desire for simplicity, serenity, and purpose.

At the height of the pandemic, this house was built in a precarious time making for an unprecedented process. With 100% remote communication and collaboration with the owners. They were able to stay current throughout the process as we worked with aligned goals and vision. The house features premium-level finishes details including stunning marble slabs in the kitchen, white oak throughout the home, and thermally modified brushed spruce cladding accents for the exterior.

Daylight plays a starring role in the home’s design. Every room is carefully planned to receive balanced, natural light in every room, achieving the owner’s goals of Simplicity and Light giving an airy and relaxing atmosphere to the home.

Located in the Houston Heights, the home is a timeless modern design and is personal to the owners. Each element of the home reflects the owner’s values of subtle elegance, natural materials, and fine craftsmanship.
