HOUSE 2511 is a courtyard style project located within an established neighborhood with an even mix of new and original houses. Remarkable for its streets lined with old growth Oak trees, care was taken to work driveway access around the two examples fronting the property. The courtyard space, marked by a central pool, has single story volumes on the sides which are modified for privacy and sunlight. One side having a 2nd floor terrace with a protective planter. The other an elevated bridge providing a covered outdoor space and blocking the neighbors views of the pool. The ground floor holds the common entertainment spaces and completely opens to the courtyard through collapsable sliding glass doors.

Exterior details of patterned flat black brick, natural cement stucco, and corrugated metal siding are composed with deep roof overhangs to modulate the front elevation. The interior features a sculptural, venetian plaster stair volume and dynamic light fixtures which occupy double height spaces. Abundant natural light and breezes flow into the courtyard space and throughout the house, without sacrificing privacy on the small tight lot.
