DESCRIPTION:Join the Emerging Professionals Committee for the tour of the new University of Houston RAD (Retail\, Auxiliary\, and Dining) Center. \nDate: April 24 \nTime: 4PM \nArchitect: Perkins&Will \nAbout the project \n\nThe Retail\, Auxiliary\, and Dining (RAD) Center is a new campus heart for the University of Houston\, replacing an underground dining facility that was severely damaged during Hurricane Harvey. \n\n\nThe first mass timber project on campus\, the RAD Center complements a striking wooden structure with inspiration drawn from the surrounding campus woodlands. Vertical façade rhythms\, multi-story spatial overlaps\, and upper story glass reflect the tree canopy and showcase the interior activity\, blurring the threshold between inside and out.
